Product Description |
|
This Tetra submersible 50-watt heater is very easy to use for aquariums ranging from 2 to 30-gallons. The electronic thermostat automatically adjusts heat output to keep the water at a constant 78 degrees Fahrenheit. All you have to do is put it in the aquarium and plug it in. |

Beware - could kill your fish |
|
It electrocuted my catfish... Why? Because they don't do quality control in China. Yes, you can feel how angry I am for killing my catfish which I've had for years. I wish I could give a negative star on this review. Never buy Tetra products, you have been warned. |

Out of the Box Broken |
I bought this heater (from WalMart)last week for my 5 gallon tank. When I first put it in the tank the red light came on. After maybe a minute or so the light turned off. I wondered whether or not it was heating the water...
After a couple days I moved the heater to my 10 gallon tank. The light did not come on, even after unplugging and replugging it. It's been in this tank for about three days, and the light hasn't come on. The temperature has actually dropped a few degrees since being in this tank. I will be returning it to the store as soon as possible. |

Horrible heater |
|
I was excited to get a heater for my smaller aquarium but this one did not ever get the temperature higher than 72 degrees. On the box it says 78 degrees + or - 2 degrees. What a waste of time. I returned it the next day. If you care about the heat in your tank you probably won't want this one. It if were only adjustable I could then have turned it up and kept it. Instead it is a worthless piece of equipment. Save yourself the time and grief of ordering this item. |

Died after 3 weeks |
|
Purchased this heater at petsmart. It my 5 gallon tank at 80-82 degrees, but died after only three weeks. Very disappointing. |

Poor Quality-Short lifespan |
|
I have purchased 3 of these Tetra Heaters in the past 5 months, and all of them have quit. The warranty only allows you to pay shipping both ways, either to fix yours, or they will send another one. I do not want any more of these Tetra heaters, and am looking for another brand. I wouldn't waist your money. |
